ALISTAIR OVERY

DSC05185After working on natural product synthesis Part II in the Burton group, Ali joined as a DPhil student in 2014. Ali’s research is based on correlated disorder, a middle ground between order and complete disorder, in framework materials and the effect this can have on physical properties. He is co-supervised by Dr Phil Chater at Diamond and Dr Matthew Tucker. He will be using the new X-ray PDF beamline to characterise disordered materials. He is usually found debugging his code while drinking gallons of tea and listening to music.

Outside of the lab he enjoys cooking, teaching and watching any sport that happens to be on.
