Phil is a 3rd year DPhil student and Marshall scholar, who is working on the functional consequences of flexibility in framework materials. Phil graduated Summa cum Laude from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with Highest Honors. While at UB, Phil conducted numerous research projects in the field of silicon nanoparticles regarding different aspects of synthesis, characterization, and applications. Outside of the laboratory, he worked in educational outreach in the Buffalo Public Schools and in the Dominican Republic. Educational opportunity and equity remains a passion of his, tandem to materials research.
Outside of work, Phil plays rugby league for the OURLFC.
